Biography Patrick Grayham

Patrick Grayham is a singer/songwriter based in Europe. His music, which he defines as ``Caribbean Soul ``, is a mixture of soulful/R&B singing with Caribbean rhythms.

``FIRE`` (Debut Single)

Patrick’s debut single “Fire” is a clear example of his music. “Fire” is a seductive soul/zouk fusion (a blend of Soul and French Caribbean music) that has been filling up the dance floors wherever it is played. Therefore, it is no surprise that  ” Fire” has been accumulating numerous results. It has been number one on several music charts across the Caribbean. Moreover, it has been one of the biggest hits in the largest cities of The Netherlands during summer 2010 (Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht). Subsequently, the amount of  bands that have been adding ``Fire`` to their repertoire is substantial. This has also led to an English/French bilingual remix with the African platinum award winning zouk artist Philip Monteiro.

ORIGIN

The Caribbean

Patrick was born in Suriname, South America and grew up on the Caribbean islands of Sint Maarten and Curaçao. As a result, he was exposed to a rich variety of music, which is vividly present in his music. Firstly, the island of Sint Maarten, which is half Dutch and half French, exposed him to music styles such as: soca ,calypso ,reggae, zouk, and kompa. Secondly, Curacao which is more Latin orientated, introduced him to a large variety of Curaçaolean and Latin music genres such as: tumba seú,tambu ,merengue ,salsa, son, bachata , mariachi reggaeton, and Latin rock. Lastly, the music of Suriname kawina and kaseko.

However, from a vocal point of view he was always more drawn to African-American Soul/R&B music. As a child he would listen hours to the great R&B groups of the nineties ( Jodeci, Boyz II men) .

Hence, his music is a sweet blend of soulful singing and Caribbean rhythms.

Europe

After high school Patrick left the Caribbean for Europe to attend college. During this period he enrolled into several music competitions which earned him first place at ``Festival Rhythm`` and ``R&B sound mix show”. Shortly after, he started working voluntarily for a top ten European rock band to enhance his knowledge on the music business.

As a result, he met several high profile musicians whom would later help him create his upcoming debut album ``West Indian``.

The aim is to release the album in many areas of the world and spread Caribbean Soul music. His debut album is due in 2011.
